A woman burnt beyond recognition, Seven kids dead along in S/Kaduna Counter-killing

The Commissioner for Internal Affairs in Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, has proclaimed that seven persons were given up a ghost in counter-killings in the state at the weekend.


Subsequently, Governor El-Rufai, in adherent to him, was worried over the rampant killings and counter-killings in Southern Kaduna evirons.


“The military under the umbrella of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) and the police has uncovered this for Kaduna State Government of persistent attack and counter- attack on some herder settlements in lere and kauru local government areas,” said Aruwan .


“Consequently, the military operational agency feedback to the state government, the attacks were perpetrate by the aggressive and  ruthless youth following the killing of seven persons on Thursday night in Gora Gan, Zangon Kataf local government.


The security agencies reported that seven herders were killed in  counter-killings in Ungwan Idi and Kasheku villages of Kauru local government whist another two herders were injured at Ningi village of Lere local government.


The seven herders killed at Ungwan Idi and Kasheku villages in Kauru local government are as follows: Mustapha Haroun (one year) , Ya’u Kada (one year) ,Sa’idu Abdullahi (one year), Zainab Zakari (one year),Sadiya Abdullahi (five years),Aisha Abdullahi (one year) and one unidentified woman burnt beyond recognition .” “Five persons are still missing and troops were on  search and save operation for them in the general area. Six huts were burnt in the attack.


“Aisha Mohammed (20 years) and Sadiya Abdullahi (25 years) who were seriously injured in the Kauru LGA in the retaliation attack are receiving medical attention at Ungwan Idi Clinic.


“At Ningi village of Lere local government area, two herders were injured was taken to General Hospital, Saminaka, in the same local government. They are  Bingel Odi (31 years) ,Isa Joda (Seven years).

Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who nullify the current counter-killings, sent condolences to the families that lost their loved and wished those convalescence speedy recovery.


“He address the rampant killing and counter- killing of innocent citizens of Atyap and Fulani ethnicity as unfortunate. He denounce the resort to violence, stating that it is not a solution to grievances and disputes or showing of ones plight, but a tragic way to spread matters and drag people into more pains and misery.


“The governor ordered the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide essential materials for the relieved to the affected families with immediate effect.”
